Gabriel "Gab (e)" Rosado (born January 14, 1986 in Philadelphia ) is an American professional middleweight boxer.

Career

Rosado didn't start boxing until the late age of 18 and came under the wing of coach Billy Briscoe. After a few amateur fights, 11 to 17 according to various sources, he switched to the professional camp in 2006. He won his debut on January 13th in the first round against Phil Hicklin. In his following career he achieved only a mixed match record, but became very popular due to his aggressive fighting style and his fighter heart.

By the end of 2012 he had won 21 of 26 fights, 13 of them prematurely. The defeated opponents included James Moore (15-0), ex- IBF World Champion Kassim Ouma (26-5), Saul Roman (32-5), Ayi Bruce (20-3), Jesús Karass (24-6) and Sechew Powell (26-4). His defeats came against Fernando Guerrero (12-0), Alfredo Angulo (15-1) and Derek Ennis (21-2) , among others .

On January 19, 2013, he boxed in New York's Madison Square Garden for the world championship of the WBA and IBO in the middleweight division against the 9-1 favorite Gennadi Golowkin (24-0, 21 knockout). Rosado did not go to the ground, but suffered a severe cut injury to his left eye and was behind on points, which is why his corner of the ring threw in the towel, not least because of his facial injuries, and ended the fight.

His next fight in May 2013 ended valueless after his opponent J'Leon Love (15-0) tested positive for doping. On October 26, 2013 he boxed for the WBO world title in middleweight division against Peter Quillin (29-0), but was again taken out of the fight by the referee in the tenth round due to a serious cut injury.

In 2014 he lost to Jermell Charlo (22-0) and David Lemieux (32-2). In 2014 he boxed in "Big Knockout Boxing" (BKB), a boxing series that is played without a ring, ropes and corners, as well as three-minute rounds. He won by a TKo win against Brian Vera the title of BKB middleweight champion. Another fight against Curtis Stevens ended in a draw. In the movie Creed - Rocky's Legacy he plays a boxer.

In December 2015 he defeated Joshua Clottey (39-4) and in June 2016 Antonio Gutiérrez (20-1). He lost to Martin Murray (34-4) in April 2017 in Liverpool by majority decision. In October 2017 he defeated Glen Tapia (23-4) by technical knockout in the sixth round.

After a draw with Luis Arias (18-1), he lost on points to Maciej Sulęcki (27-1) in March 2019 . During the fight, both boxers were each on the ground twice. In December 2019 he won on points against Humberto Ochoa (33-8).
