Gabriele Maria Ronge
Gabriele Maria Ronge (* 1957 in Hanover ) is a German opera singer ( dramatic soprano ) who is best known for interpreting the great roles of Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss .
Life
Ronge first studied Romance and English at the Georg-August University in Göttingen . At the same time, she began vocal training with the singing teacher Nurit Gorén. Friedel Becker-Brill was her teacher later. Gabriele Maria Ronge first appeared as a singer in the jazz clubs of Göttingen. Her career as an opera singer began with radio recordings for the Sender Freies Berlin and an appearance on the television series Anneliese Rothenberger Introduces . Her first permanent engagement took her to the Städtische Bühnen Osnabrück, where she mainly sang operetta divas. Then she was briefly engaged at the Musiktheater im Revier in Gelsenkirchen, where she worked on the first roles of the youthful-dramatic subject, such as Eva in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg , but also the title role in Thais.
In the early 1990s she was engaged by Wolfgang Sawallisch at the Bavarian State Opera , where she a. a. when Agathe appeared in Der Freischütz and Jaroslawna in Prince Igor. In 2003 she made her debut in Puccini's hometown Lucca in the title role of Turandot . Since 2000 she has a. the following opera houses: Vienna State Opera , Staatsoper Berlin , German Opera Berlin , Rome (Opera and Accademia Santa Cecilia), Geneva, Genoa, Bologna, Turin, Trieste, Marseille, Toulon, also in Madrid, Tokyo, Singapore, Tel Aviv and Mexico .
The artist worked a. a. with the following conductors: Lorin Maazel , Zubin Mehta , Riccardo Muti , Daniel Barenboim , Daniele Gatti , Bernard Haitink , Gerd Albrecht , Horst Stein , Peter Schneider , Wolfgang Sawallisch.
The following roles have been released on CD: Sieglinde ( Die Walküre ) and Gutrune ( Götterdämmerung ) on the Bella Musica label, Brünnhilde ( Götterdämmerung , final song) on Arte Nova Classics, Maria ( The dictator , composer: Ernst Krenek) on Capriccio, Chava ( Die first people , composer: Rudi Stephan) with CPO , also Gustav Mahler's 2nd symphony with Antes Edition.
