Village street with the church

Gadow was first mentioned in a document in 1374. It is the place of origin of the noble family of the same name from Gadow , which is documented as early as 1333. The area was predominantly under Slavic rule until the 12th century . At the beginning of the 14th century there was immigration from Westphalia , Thuringia and Franconia . Gadow belonged to the Ruppin district until 1817 and then came to the new Ostprignitz district .

In the village there is a church from the 1860s based on a design by the builder Wedeke . The first of the predecessor churches was probably founded in the 12th – 13th centuries. Built in the 17th century, the next at the end of the 17th century.
