Galgenkopf (nature reserve)

The Galgenkopf nature reserve is located in the Altenkirchen (Westerwald) district in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The approximately 30 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1984 , extends northwest of the Friedewald community . District road K 110 runs along the northern edge of the area and state road L 286 not far to the southwest .
The protective purpose is the preservation of the abandoned adhesive sand pit with its water and shallow water zones and its steep surfaces.
