Gam is a settlement in the Otjozondjupa region in Namibia . It is located about 400 kilometers northeast of Gobabis and 100 kilometers from Tsumkwe in the constituency of the same name . Gam was established in 1994 as the initial reception center for the return of refugees from Botswana who fled mainly during the Herero and Nama uprising between 1904 and 1908. Today Gam has less than 5000 inhabitants.

The informal settlement has hardly any public facilities. A clinic ensures basic medical care. The area is only connected to the outside world by the NBC Omurari FM radio station . There is a school. The power supply is ensured by a photovoltaic system .
