The Garon is a river in France that runs in the Rhône department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It rises in the Monts du Lyonnais mountains , on the municipal boundary of Saint-Martin-en-Haut and Yzeron , first drains in an easterly direction, then turns to the south-east, crosses the agglomeration southwest of Lyon and after a total of 31 kilometers it flows into the municipal boundary of Givors and Grigny as a right tributary to the Rhône .
