The Gauliga Westfalen 1942/43 was the tenth season of the Gauliga Westphalia in football. FC Schalke 04 secured the championship with a twelve-point lead over VfL Altenbögge . Schalke qualified for the final round of the German championship , where they were eliminated in the quarter-finals after a 1: 4 defeat against Holstein Kiel . The relegation ranks were occupied by STV Horst-Emscher and Arminia Marten . SpVgg Erkenschwick and Alemannia Dortmund rose from the district leagues . Arminia Bielefeld and VfB 03 Bielefeld joined the KSG Bielefeld war syndicate for the 1943/44 season .
