The Gazeille is a river in France that runs in the Haute-Loire department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It rises on the southwest flank of Mont Mézenc , from the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Nature Park , on the municipal boundary of Les Estables and Borée , which also forms the border with the neighboring Ardèche department . The river generally drains in a westerly direction and flows into the Loire as a right tributary after 27 kilometers at the hamlet of Colempce-Bas , in the municipality of Chadron .

Attractions

The railway viaduct at Le Monastier-sur-Gazeille was planned by Paul Séjourné and was part of the never completed railway line from Le Puy-en-Velay to Lalevade-d'Ardèche . The 270 m long structure, which runs in a curve, contains eight round arches with a span of 25 meters and a height of 65 meters above the gauze.
