Georg Bossner

Georg Boeßner (born June 26, 1972 in Aalen , Germany) is a German pianist, composer, arranger and author.

biography

From 1979 Boeßner first received classical piano lessons. From 1984 to 1987 he had various jazz piano teachers a. a. Peter Ortmann. From 1987 to 1990 he attended the Maria-Hilf boarding school in Bad Mergentheim and gained his first gaming experience, e.g. B. as piano accompanist for clown woman Eliszi, whom he accompanied on a tour of Germany in 1991.

1988-1991 Boeßner played in the rock band Free Project X . From 1990 to 1992 he trained as a music dealer and took piano and harmony lessons from Edgar Mann . 1992–1994 he studied at the vocational school for music in Bad Königshofen. During this time he also played in the Bavarian Youth Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Harald Rüschenbaum and received lessons from Richard Wiedamann and Chris Beier .

From 1994 Boeßner studied piano at the University of Music Mainz in the jazz and popular music department. a. with Achim Kaufmann , Joachim Ullrich and Wolfram Knauer . He completed his diploma studies in 2000. During his studies he played with Benny Bailey and Herb Geller and formed his own bands a. a. with Axel Schlosser and Sebastian Merk . From 1997 to 2001 Georg Boeßner worked at the Darmstadt Jazz Institute . After graduating, he worked at Hazelwood Music Produktion from 2001 to 2002 and at Schott Music from 2003 to 2004 . In 2004 Boeßner also played for a few months with the lounge band 4 to the bar . There he met producer Michael Laven, with whom he has been working on the Boeßner & Laven electronics project since then.

Since 2005 Boeßner has also been writing arrangements and compositions for sheet music for music publishers such as Schott Music or Nordend Music. In 2012, Georg Boeßner published the piano school "Modern Piano Method" at Nordend Music, the first method that, in addition to the piano system, also teaches piano playing according to lead sheets .

Over the years he has also worked and played as a musician with Wayne Escoffery , Russ Spiegel , Gianluca Petrella , Martin Lejeune , Steffen Weber , Jay Oliver , Ed Partyka , Liza da Costa and others.
