Georg Friedrich Brust (born March 7, 1790 in Darmstadt ; † May 20, 1854 ibid) was a German local politician , mayor , building contractor and master craftsman .

Life

Georg Friedrich Brust was a building contractor and master white weaver . Breast was mayor of Darmstadt from 1836 to 1848. There were three candidates in the 1836 election . Breast received the fewest votes. Nevertheless, he was installed in the office of mayor of Darmstadt by Grand Duke Ludwig II . Most likely, Brust was considered politically reliable by the President of the Ministry as a whole (Prime Minister) Karl du Thil . In 1842, Brust was confirmed in this office. In 1848 he ran unsuccessfully for the third time for the office of mayor of Darmstadt.

Breast was accused of abuse of office and inaction. The Darmstadt construction company he managed had to file for bankruptcy in 1848 .

Honors

On August 25, 1840, he received the Knight's Cross of the Grand Ducal Hessian Order of Merit of Philip the Magnanimous. In 1901, a street in Darmstadt's Paulusviertel was named after Brust.
