Georg Heinrich Klippel

Georg Heinrich Klippel (also: Georgius Henricus Klippel or Heinrich Veldeck ( pseudonym ); * May 8, 1801 in Klein Lengden ; † September 23, 1878 in Verden (Aller) ) was a German teacher , vice-principal , philologist , writer and biographer of the Prussian General Gerhard von Scharnhorst and historians and nonfiction - author .

Life

Born yet at the time of the Electorate of Hanover in the village of Klein Lengden the son of a schoolmaster , Georg Heinrich studied cliffs by the so-called " French period " and at the beginning of the Kingdom of Hanover in the years from 1819 up to the doctorate as Dr. phil. 1822 in Göttingen at the Georg August University .

Then Klippel worked as a teacher in Göttingen and Ilfeld near Hildesheim . After his marriage to Julie Harmsen , he worked as vice-principal at the Domgymnasium Verden from 1833 until he retired in 1865.

After the annexation of the Kingdom of Hanover by Prussia , he wrote the three-volume biographical work Das Leben des General von Scharnhorst, which was published by Brockhaus Verlag in Leipzig from 1869 to 1871 ...

Georg Heinrich Klippel was a full member of the Historical Association for Lower Saxony and the Historical-Theological Society of Leipzig .
