Georg Henschel (politician)
Georg Henschel (born September 16, 1912 in Berlin , † September 4, 1981 in Stade ) was a German politician ( SPD ).
Henschel attended the Askanische Gymnasium in Berlin-Kreuzberg from 1918 to 1926 , after which he did an apprenticeship as a wholesale and retail salesman . In 1934 he became an independent magazine dealer in the station book trade . He was drafted in 1941 during World War II .
In 1945 Henschel joined the SPD and was elected to the city council of Greater Berlin in 1946 . But already in January 1947 he left parliament again, as he was elected as district mayor of the Kreuzberg district. In the Berlin election in 1950 , Henschel was elected to the district assembly of Berlin-Kreuzberg. In February 1965 he moved to the Berlin House of Representatives , as Hans Baltruschat was elected as district councilor in Kreuzberg. In 1971 he left the House of Representatives.
