Georg Joachim von der Wense (born December 6, 1666 in Hattorf; † August 3, 1725 in Köslin ) was a Prussian major general , chief of the Dragoon Regiment No. 1 and heir of Hattorf , Mörse and Dedenhausen .

Life

origin

His parents were the royal Saxon-Merseburg court marshal and councilor Georg Friedrich von der Wense (* December 31, 1633 - August 31, 1694) and his wife Katharina Ehrengard, née von Alvensleben from the Erxleben family (* February 1645; † 1. October 1698).

Military career

Wense went into imperial service in 1682 and fought in Hungary . In 1692 he became captain of the “Ansbach” dragoon regiment in the service of the Elector of Brandenburg. He was then major and on January 3, 1700 lieutenant colonel . On June 11, 1705 he became a colonel in the "du Veyne" dragoon regiment and on June 6, 1718 major general. In 1719 Andreas Reveillas du Veyne ceded the regiment to him. Wense died in Koslin in Pomerania in 1725.

family

He was married to Maria Luise von Kalckstein and had several children, including the son Georg Ludwig († after 1725), heir to Hattorf and the daughter Catharina Charlotte († after 1725).
