Kalckstein (also limestone , in Poland partly Kalkstein-Stoliński , Kalkstein-Kobyliński and Kalkstein-Osłowski ) is the name of an old Prussian noble family . Branches of the family persist to this day.

history

The sex with his eponymous family estate at Wormditt heard the Warmia nobility and appears first documented in 1284 with Kristanus de Kalksteyn . The family line begins with Christian von Kalckstein , heir to Wogau in 1486.

The Kobyliński , Osłowski and Stoliński lines were partially Polonized before 1400. When the Duchy of Prussia came to Brandenburg , parts of the Kalkstein family were at the head of the opposition to the Great Elector , which ultimately only ended with the execution of Christian Ludwig von Kalckstein on November 8, 1672 in Memel . Nevertheless, the family in the Kingdom of Prussia provided Christoph Wilhelm von Kalckstein (1682–1759) and Ludwig Karl von Kalckstein (1725–1800), two field marshals , who were to be followed by many officers in the Prussian army , including four generals, in the following years . Friedrich Wilhelm von Kalckstein received the order Pour le Mérite in 1756 and Leopold Wilhelm von Kalckstein in 1794 .

The Silesian line must have been elevated to the baron class , several members are named with this title or as a baron . Anton Freiherr von Kalckstein was Provincial of the Minorite Order in Bohemia and Silesia in 1720 . Joseph Baron von Kalkstein was named among the knight academists from Liegnitz .

The sex association with family foundation, established in 1886, was founded in 1965 as the association of the von Kal (c) kstein e. V. and family foundation renewed.
