Georg Reimer (born February 7, 1882 in Ekenis in fishing ; † February 13, 1959 in Aukrug ) was a German teacher , local researcher and author of local history essays.

Life

Reimer's parents were farm workers on the farm of the farmer Klinker, grandfather of Hans-Jürgen Klinker , the former president of the state farmers' association in Schleswig-Holstein. After school in his home village, he attended the preparatory institute in Aabenraa and later the teachers' college in Eckernförde , where he passed his teaching examination in 1901. In 1904 Georg Reimer was elected teacher at the local school by the municipality of Böken. In the same year he married Catharina Krey, who worked as a teacher in Innien.

In 1905, teacher Reimer was commissioned by the Innier Loan Office to write a chronicle about the history of Aukrug. In 1913 the "History of the Aukrugs" was published for the first time. Today it is one of the oldest village chronicles in Schleswig-Holstein and established the concept of the Aukrug as a closed settlement area . So far it has appeared in the fourth edition. In the First World War was Reimer soldier 1914-1918.

In 1922 Reimer was, together with the historian for regional history Paul von Hedemann-Heespen and Jürgen Kleen (teacher in Gnutz ), editor of the home book of the district of Rendsburg . The museum association "Die Heimat" made him an honorary member. The community of Aukrug named a street after him in the Innien district.
