Georg Wolf von Tümpling

Georg Wolf von Tümpling (born March 21, 1713 in Freiberg (Saxony) ; † August 12, 1777 in Schidlitz ) was a Prussian colonel , chief of garrison regiment No. 2 and heir to Freyrode, Kolb and Lobschütz.

Life

origin

His parents were the Saxon-Weimar lieutenant colonel and chamberlain Georg Wolf von Tümpling (* May 2, 1672 - December 1, 1732) and his wife Johanne (Marie) Charlotte, née von Karlowitz († March 22, 1734). His mother's parents were the chief miner Hans Carl von Carlowitz († March 3, 1714) on Arnsdorf and his wife Usula Magarethe von Bose from the Frankleben house. His father was the heir of Sonna, Kursdorf and Hermsdorf.

Military career

Von Tümpling was initially a cadet in Dresden for two years and then five years in the life guards on horseback of Duke Eberhard Ludwig von Württemberg . He was born on February 1, 1735 First Lieutenant . The regiment came in Austrian pay and took part in the attack at Kursheim near Philippsburg . In 1741, Duke Karl Friedrich von Württemberg-Oels left the regiment to the Prussian King Friedrich II. It then formed the basis for the "Woldeck" regiment in Minden. Von Tümpling immediately became staff captain and on January 1, 1744 he received his own company . On July 13, 1757 he was major , on April 12, 1762 lieutenant colonel and on May 25, 1765 colonel and commander of the regiment. In 1773 he became chief of Garrison Regiment No. 2.

During the Seven Years' War von Tümpling fought near Prague , Kolin , Liegnitz , Torgau and Reichenbach . He was wounded in the battle of Kunersdorf . He was also involved in the sieges of Olomouc, Dresden and Küstrin as well as in the battles near Krenau, Kloster-Wahlstadt, Romburg in Böhmen, Fehrbellin, Hof and Holitsch as well as in the assault on the Siptitzer heights during the battle of Torgau .

family

He married Vincentine Henriette von Runinghafen on November 12, 1748 (* July 18, 1734; † June 5, 1801). Her father was a Prussian judge and court judge in Kleve . The couple had three daughters and one son:
