Georgios Zaimis ( Greek Γεώργιος Ζαΐμης ; born June 28, 1937 in Piraeus ; † May 1, 2020 ) was a Greek sailor .
successes
Georgios Zaimis took part in three Olympic Games in the dragon boat class . During his Olympic debut in Rome in 1960 , he was a crew member alongside Odysseus Eskitzoglou on the Greek boat of helmsman Konstantin von Greece . In their boat Nirefs they were Olympic champions with 6733 points ahead of the Argentinian and Italian boats . In 1964 in Tokyo , Zaimis, this time crew member of helmsman Odysseus Eskitzoglou, took eighth place. At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City , he and Eskitzoglou did not get past 15th place.
