Gerhard Fatzer

Gerhard Fatzer (* 1951 ; resident in Salmsach ) is a Swiss psychologist and pioneer of organizational development in German-speaking countries.

Life

Fatzer obtained his Matura at the Frauenfeld canton school in 1971 . From 1972 he studied education , philosophy and social psychology at the University of Zurich and received his doctorate in 1980. At the same time, he studied at the University of Applied Psychology (IAP) in Zurich . He conducted research at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) and at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He trained at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in organizational development and at the Harvard University in the field Action Science on. Fatzer trained as a Gestalt therapist FPI at the Gestalt Institute Cleveland . He is also a group dynamic SGGG .

From 1983 to 1990 Fatzer headed the training department of the IAP. Since 1991 he has been director of the Trias Institute for Coaching, Supervision and Organizational Development in Grüningen . He trains organizational developers, managers and coaches .

Since 1987 he has been a permanent visiting researcher at the MIT Sloan School of Management . From 1989 to 1991 he was visiting professor at the University of Kassel . Since 2002 he has been visiting professor at the Institute for Psychology at the University of Innsbruck . He has been visiting professor at Zeppelin University since 2010 and at the IEDC in Bled since 2014 at Thapar University in Patiala India. He also taught at the HSG and the ETH Zurich.

Fatzer has been the publisher of Profile magazine and the EHP Organization book series since 2001 . He is one of the pioneers of German-speaking organizational development with the aim of providing cultural bridges between the American and German-speaking regions.

His institute Trias has held the Trias conferences : 2006 on "Transition and Transformation", 2009 on "Transformation and Leadership" and 2011 on "Inspiration and Organization", and in 2013 and 2014 on "Humble Inquiry" together with the IBM Research Center. Trias Conference 2017 with HWZ Zurich “Humble Leadership”, Trias Conference 2020 “Ed Schein: The Spirit of Inquiry”, with book presentation. From 2018 Trias masterclass (www.trias-masterclass.ch or www.trias-masterclass.com.) In collaboration with Edgar H. Schein, Otto Scharmer and Peter Senge from the MIT Sloan School.
