The judicial district of Tolmein ( Slovenian Tolmin , Italian Tolmino ) was a judicial district subordinate to the District Court of Tolmein in the duchy of Gorizia and Gradisca . Tolmein was the third largest judicial district in the county of Gorizia, but had the third lowest population density of all judicial districts with a population of 15,357 people in 1910.

The judicial district comprised areas in what is now the Slovenian region of Goriška on the state border with Italy and belonged to the Tolmein district . After the First World War , Austria had to cede the entire judicial district to Italy, after the Second World War the area came to Yugoslavia , today it is part of Slovenia .

history

The judicial district of Tolmein was created around 1850 as a result of the dissolution of the original patrimonial jurisdiction in the Prince Counties of Gorizia and Gradisca as well as in the entire Austrian Empire . The judicial district was subordinate to the regional court of Gorizia , which was responsible for the entire county , which in turn was subordinate to the higher regional court of Trieste , which started its activity on May 1, 1850. Even after Gorizia and Gradisca and Trieste as well as Istria gained their independence as crown lands from the original crown land coastal land, the higher regional court of Trieste remained the highest instance for the judicial district of Tolmein.

In the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration from 1868, the judicial district of Tolmein, together with the judicial districts of Kirchheim and Flitsch, formed the district of Tolmein . Most recently, the Karfreit judicial district was also part of the Tolmein district.

The judicial district of Tolmein had a population of 15,357 in 1910, of whom 15,166 gave Slovene as a colloquial language. Furthermore, 89 German speakers , 21  Italian speakers and 81 foreign speakers or foreigners lived in the judicial district  .

Due to the border regulations of the Treaty of Saint-Germain concluded on September 10, 1919 , the judicial district of Tolmein Italy was slammed. After the Second World War, the area came to Yugoslavia , today it is part of the municipality of Tolmin or Slovenia .

Courthouse

The court district in 1910 included the five municipalities Grahovo , Ponikve , Sveta Lucija , Tolmein and Volče and part of the municipality Šentviška Gora .
