German Inline Cup

The German Inline Cup (GIC) is a Germany-wide competition series for inline speed skaters that has been held since 2008. The popular sport , which makes up the majority of the starters at inline skating events, is also addressed and taken into account with a rating integrated into the cup. The organizer of the cup is IGUANA Deutschland GmbH with Petr Stastny as managing director.

Season and events

  • 1st season 2008: The start was on April 6th the Berlin Half Marathon in Berlin , on May 31st the Middle Rhine Marathon in Koblenz along the Middle Rhine Valley , on August 24th the XRace on the Großer Stern was on wet roads a second time over the half marathon distance , fourth run and final was the Cologne Marathon in Cologne on October 5th .
  • 2. Season 2009: The first race on April 5th was the Berlin Half Marathon in Berlin, the second station was on June 6th in Koblenz at the Middle Rhine Marathon, the third race on August 30th was the XRace at the Großer Stern in Berlin and that The final took place on October 4th at the Cologne Marathon in Cologne.
  • 3. Season 2010: On March 28, marked the start of the Berlin Half Marathon, the second station on May 29 was in Koblenz along the Middle Rhine Valley, on July 18, it was for the first time at the Bremen-Challenge in Bremen to guest, the On August 22nd at the XRace at the Großer Stern in Berlin, on September 11th they were also at the Arena Geisingen Half Marathon in Geisingen for the first time and the final was on October 3rd at the Cologne Marathon.
  • 4th season 2011: The start was again on April 3rd at the Berlin Half Marathon, as the second race on May 1st the GIC was for the first time at the Rhein-Main Skate-Challenge in Frankfurt , on May 28th Koblenz was with the Middle Rhine -Marathon third station, on August 21st the series was at the XRace at the Großer Stern in Berlin, on September 10th for the second time after 2010 in Geisingen at the Geisingen Half Marathon and the final took place on October 2nd at the Cologne Marathon in Cologne.
  • 5th season 2012: The start took place on April 1st at the Berlin Half Marathon, then on May 1st the Rhein-Main Skate Challenge in Frankfurt, in Koblenz the Middle Rhine Marathon on June 2nd, on May 19th On August 8th, the GIC will be a guest at the XRace am Großer Stern in Berlin, on September 8th at the Geisingen Half Marathon and the final will take place again on October 14th at the Cologne Marathon.
  • 6. 2013 season: The number and order of the races remains unchanged from the previous year. The start will take place on April 7th at the Berlin Half Marathon . The finals will be held on October 13th at the Cologne Marathon .
  • 7th season 2014: The number of rated races will be reduced to four. The kick-off will take place on March 30th in Berlin . The finals will be held on September 27 at the Berlin Marathon . The races at the XRace , in Geisingen and the Cologne Marathon are canceled.

Scoring system

The following rating system has been in place for men and women since the first season in 2008.

Exceptions

Only for the finals in Cologne 2010 the winner got 1,500 points, the second 1,470 points, the third 1,455 points and so on. The distribution of points for the 2011 final in Cologne has been slightly changed. The winner gets 1,200 points, the second 1,176 points, the third 1,164 points and so on.
