Gernicourt is a former commune in the French Marne department in the Grand Est administrative region (formerly Aisne department in the Hauts-de-France region ). It was incorporated into Cormicy with effect from January 1, 2017 .

Gernicourt is demarcated from the Aisne in the north . The Aisne Lateral Canal , a shipping canal, crosses the municipal marker. Neighboring towns are Pontavert in the north-west, La Ville-aux-Bois-lès-Pontavert in the north, Berry-au-Bac in the north-east, Cormicy in the south-east, Bouffignereux in the south-west and Chaudardes in the west.
