Like its predecessor, Ghost Movie 2 received mostly negative reviews. On Rotten Tomatoes , only 8% of 39 evaluated reviews were positive in their judgment.

"Marlon Wayan's parody sequel is as clumsy and childish as its predecessor, but no one can say that its screenwriter and star don't give it all."

- Andrew Barker - Variety

"Tiring, hardly comical corruption of hip horror films, which largely leaves its punch line to chance."
