Bermersbach is a district of the municipality Forbach in Baden-Württemberg and is located northwest above the core town on a terrace above the Murgtal . The town hall is about 410 m above sea level. NN .

The mayor is Eberhard Barth (FWG).

geography

The place is in the northern Black Forest about 160 meters above the valley floor on a narrow granite terrace west of the Murg. A country road runs from Forbach via Bermersbach to the 690 m high pass Rote Lache and further west to Baden-Baden .

Especially known in Bermersbach are the so-called Giersteine , three up to 7 × 4 × 4 m large boulders made of Forbach granite on the eastern edge of the terrace with peculiar weathering channels . Folklore has given them all kinds of mystical meanings. The Giersteine ​​have been a protected natural monument since 1940 .

The Bermersbach coat of arms can be traced back to the 18th century. It is a red stone block lying on a green background, above it a black paw cross with equal arms hovers in a silver field .

Culture and sights

The symbol of the place is the Catholic parish church, which is consecrated to Saint Anthony of Padua . The conspicuously pointed and green patinated tower can be seen from afar from the Murg valley . The church was built in 1895 and adapted in 1969 by the Freiburg sculptor Bruno Knittel to the requirements of the Second Vatican Council . The stained glass windows are by Valentin Peter Feuerstein and show the history of salvation from creation to the vision of glory in Revelation . The Way of the Cross from 1972 was created by Wilhelm Müller from Munich .

In the festival hall (former school) of the district is the Murg Valley Museum run by the Bermersbach Heimatverein, which deals with the living conditions of earlier generations in the region.
