Gilson Andrade da Silva (born September 11, 1966 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of Nova Iguaçu .

Life

Gilson Andrade da Silva was ordained a priest on August 4, 1991 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on July 27, 2011 auxiliary bishop in São Salvador da Bahia and titular bishop of Noba . The Bishop of Petrópolis , Filippo Santoro , ordained him episcopal on September 24th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Murilo Sebastião Ramos Krieger SCI , Archbishop of São Salvador da Bahia , and Alano Maria Pena OP , Archbishop of Niterói . As a motto he chose IN VERBO TUO .

Pope Francis appointed him coadjutor bishop of Nova Iguaçu on June 27, 2018 . With the resignation of Luciano Bergamin CRL on May 15, 2019, he succeeded him as Bishop of Nova Iguaçu.
