Gina Hecht (* 6. December 1953 in Winter Park , Florida ) is an American actress .

Life and accomplishments

Gina Hecht is a daughter of the actress Pauline Hecht, who mainly appeared in plays. She made her debut in the science fiction television series Mork vom Ork , in which she appeared from 1979 to 1981. In the comedy Nightshift (1982) she played the fiancée of Chuck Lumley ( Henry Winkler ). In the drama St. Elmo's Fire (1985) she appeared on the side of Emilio Estevez , Rob Lowe , Demi Moore and Andie MacDowell . In the television drama Hunt my tormentors! (1992) Hecht took on one of the bigger roles alongside Joanna Cassidy and Ellen Burstyn . In the film drama A Hot Affair (1995) she played a bigger role on the side of Ally Sheedy .

Hecht is married to the screenwriter and actor Brian Herskowitz . She produced her husband's directorial debut, the short film Odessa or Bust (2001), for which Herskowitz also wrote the screenplay. In the film, Red Buttons played one of his last roles as an old actor who remembers the difficulties of his career. Gina Hecht played the role of God. Odessa or Bust was awarded the jury prize for best short film at the Tambay Film and Video Festival in Tampa . In the love film A Stranger's Heart (2007) produced for television , she starred in a larger role at the side of Samantha Mathis .
