Glarus Alps in the broader sense (SOIUSA)
The Glarus Alps in the broader sense are a mountain group in the Western Alps . In the SOIUSA mountain classification they are listed as section 13. They consist of the Glarus Alps in the narrower sense and the Urner-Glarus Alps .
The mountain range extends over the Swiss cantons of Glarus , Uri , Graubünden and St. Gallen . The highest mountain is the Tödi at 3620 m above sea level. M.

You border
- in the north to the Swiss Pre-Alps separated by Schächental , Ruosalper Grätli , Bisistal , Klöntal , Linthal , Walensee and the Seeztal
- to the west of Uri within the Bernese Alps in the broader sense limited by the Reusstal
- to the east on the Rätikon and Plessur Alps , both of which are part of the Western Rhaetian Alps according to SOIUSA , separated by the Rhine
- bounded in the south by the Lepontine Alps by the Oberalp Pass and the Vorderrheintal .
