Glasersberg

Glasersberg is a desert in the municipality of Nuremberg .

Geographical location

The former wasteland including the quarry was located in the middle of the Kleinschwarzenlohe forest . Federal motorway 6 passes immediately to the south- east. The area is accessible by hiking trails. The glazier mountain is part of the protected landscape Worzeldorfer mountain Glaserbergstrasse ( LSG 00536.03 ).

history

In 1347 Heinrich von Kornburg was confirmed by King Charles IV of the Glasersberg, which at that time was still called Kornberg, including the forest and the quarries, as an imperial fief .

The Glasersberg was used as a quarry. From 1840 at the latest, a small settlement was built for the workers, which at that time was called Steinberg. The settlement was located in the municipality of Kleinschwarzenlohe . After 1885, but before 1900, Glasersberg was transferred to Worzeldorf ( Schwabach district office ). After 1900 Glasersberg is no longer listed as a district. On July 1, 1972, the municipality of Worzeldorf was incorporated into Nuremberg as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
