The Gmina Śrem [ ˈɕrɛm ] is a town-and-country municipality in the powiat Śremski of the Greater Poland Voivodeship in Poland . The seat of the Powiat and the municipality is the city of the same name ( German Schrimm ) with about 29,600 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality with an area of almost 206 km² is located about 35 kilometers south of the city of Poznan . The Warta runs through the community from east to north.
history
The municipality was part of the Poznan Voivodeship from 1975 to 1998 .
