The Gmina Annopol [ anˈnɔpɔl ] is a town-and-country municipality in the Powiat Kraśnicki of the Lublin Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name with about 2700 inhabitants.
geography
The Gmina Annopol is about 60 km southwest of Lublin . The Vistula forms the western border of the municipality. The Sanna flows into the Vistula near Opoka Duża .
The municipality has an area of 151.1 km². 71% of the municipal area is used for agriculture, 19% is covered with forest.
history
In the area of today's municipality, German units killed 917 people on February 2, 1944 and set the villages on fire.
Annopol has been a city again since January 1, 1996 after its city rights were revoked in 1869. The Annopol coat of arms and flag were officially introduced on June 28, 2002.

The coat of arms of the Annopol municipality shows the seated figure of St. Anna. She wears a green dress, a white coat, yellow slippers, and has a golden halo around her head. She has placed her right hand open on her chest. On a red background there is a silver S in capital heraldic to the right of her and on the left, in the same style, the letter A.

The flag of Annopol Municipality has three horizontal stripes. These are colored yellow, green and white from bottom to top. The two outer stripes each have a height of 2: 5 to the total height of the flag, while the central stripe has a height of 1: 5.
