The Gmina Czempiń [ t͡ʂɛmpjiɲ ] is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Kościański of the Greater Poland Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name ( German Czempin ) with about 5,300 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality, with an area of 142.5 km², is located south of the city of Poznan . The district town of Kościan (costs) is about five kilometers to the west.
history
The community was formed in 1973/1991. From 1975 to 1998 it was part of the Poznan Voivodeship .

traffic
The S5 expressway runs through the north of the municipality from Poznan to Wroclaw . The province road 310 (droga wojewódzka) connects it with Czempiń and continues to the town of Śrem (Schrimm), about 20 kilometers away .
The Czempiń train station is on the Poznan – Wroclaw .
