The Gmina Czempiń [ t͡ʂɛmpjiɲ ] is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Kościański of the Greater Poland Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city ​​of the same name ( German Czempin ) with about 5,300 inhabitants.

The municipality, with an area of ​​142.5 km², is located south of the city of Poznan . The district town of Kościan (costs) is about five kilometers to the west.

history

The community was formed in 1973/1991. From 1975 to 1998 it was part of the Poznan Voivodeship .
