The Gmina Goniądz is an urban-and-rural municipality in the Powiat Moniecki of the Podlaskie Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name ( German Gonionds ) with about 1800 inhabitants.

The urban-and-rural municipality Goniądz has an area of 376.68 km² on which in 2016 about 5000 people lived.

The city is on the Voivodship Road 670 (DW 670), which branches off five kilometers west of Goniądz from the state road 65 (DK 65). About 25 kilometers east of Goniądz, the DW 670 crosses the European route 67 ( DK 8 ) at Suchowola .

South of the city is the Goniądz stop on the Głomno – Białystok railway line , while the Osowiec station is in the Osowiec-Twierdza part of the municipality . The nearest international airport is Frédéric Chopin Airport in Warsaw , 190 kilometers away.
