The Gmina Iłowa [ iˈwɔva ] is a town-and-country municipality in the powiat Żagański of the Lubusz Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the small town of the same name ( German Halbau ) with about 3900 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality covers an area of approximately 153 km². It is located on the southern border of the voivodeship and in the southwest of the Polish part of Upper Lusatia . The Czerna Mała (Little Tschirne) belongs to the waters .
history
In 1962, their main town was regained city rights after having been an "urban settlement" five years earlier.
