The Gmina Mogilno [ mɔˈɟilnɔ ] is a town-and-country municipality in the powiat Mogileński of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . The seat of the Powiat and the municipality is the city of the same name with around 12,100 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality is located about 20 km northeast of Gniezno (Gnesen) . The approximately 77 hectare Jezioro Mogileńskie is located on the territory of the town and municipality.
history
As part of the first partition of Poland in 1772, the municipality came to Prussia . After the First World War it was ceded to the Second Polish Republic under the provisions of the Versailles Treaty . After the invasion of Poland , the area was 1,939 German occupied and almost all places have been renamed.
The municipality has existed since 1973, in 1975 it was part of the Bydgoszcz Voivodeship until 1998 .

traffic
The city is on the Poznań – Toruń railway line . In the past, lines to Barcin , with a train station in Wszedzień and to Inowrocław , with train stations in Szczeglin and Kunowo, and to Orchowo , with train stations in Kwieciszewo, Gębice and Procyń, branched off from Mogilno .
