The Gmina Opatów [ ɔˈpatuf ] is an urban-and-rural municipality in the Powiat Opatowski of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship in Poland . The seat of the Powiat and the municipality is the city of the same name with about 6550 inhabitants.

The Opatówka runs through the area of the municipality and the main town. It flows in a south-easterly direction and flows into the Vistula beyond the municipal boundary .
history
From 1975 to 1998 the municipality belonged to the Tarnobrzeg Voivodeship .
