The Gmina Wąchock is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Starachowicki in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name with about 2800 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality borders the district town of Starachowice in the east . To the waters belonging Vistula inflow Kamienna .
history
From 1975 to 1998 the municipality was part of the Kielce Voivodeship . In 1994 Wąchock received the 1870 but knew the city rights back and the church got its current status.

The following villages belong to the urban and rural community of Wąchock:
Ciecierówka, Marcinków, Marcinków Górny, Parszów, Rataje, Wielka Wieś, Węglów and Wymysłów.
Others
The main town of the municipality is known nationwide for the jokes about its inhabitants, the Polish equivalent of the East Frisian jokes in Germany.
