The Gosse is a good five kilometers long, southwest and left tributary of the Alme in the Paderborn plateau in the area of the North Rhine-Westphalian districts of Soest and Paderborn . This inflow carried fine sediments from agriculture into the main river and should therefore be greened in the outflow area and separated from the neighboring agriculture by a four meter wide buffer strip.

geography

course

The Gosse rises in the Rüthener district of Hemmern south of Grundstrasse at an altitude of 338  m above sea level. NHN .

It initially flows, accompanied by the K 78 , in the district of Hemmern a good two kilometers north-east through fields and then passes the municipal boundary from Rüthen to Büren , at the same time leaving the Soest district and entering the Paderborn district. The brook now meanders in the area of the Büren village of Weine in lush arches through a strip of farmland that is bordered on the right and left by deciduous forest.

Dei Gosse then reaches the western edge of the village, crosses under the railway line of the Paderborn-Höxter public transport network and finally flows out at an altitude of about 223  m above sea level. NHN from the left into the Alme approaching there from the south .

The approximately 5.3 km long course of the Gosse ends about 115 meters below its source, so it has a mean bottom gradient of about 22 ‰.

Catchment area

The 7.17 km² catchment area of the Gosse lies in the Paderborn plateau and is drained through it via the Alme, the Lippe and the Rhine to the North Sea.

It borders

The stream flows through the landscape protection area side valleys of Alme and Afte . The highest point is the peak Warte with 391  m above sea level. NHN in the west of the catchment area. The catchment area borders on wind farms in the west and north . The two villages of Hemmern and Weiden are the only settlements in the catchment area. The valley cuts of the Gosse are partly wooded and the ridges of the valley are used for agriculture.

While the catchment area on the upper reaches of the upper reaches is characterized by limestone , marl and clay marl rocks from the Lower Cretaceous to the Upper Cretaceous , sandstone also occurs in the lower layers of the lower reaches .
