The Pöppelsche is a structurally rich stream in the Soest district in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany. It flows from Anröchte - Effeln to the north and flows into the Gieseler at Lippstadt - Bökenförde . As so-called Schledde in the northern slope of the hair strand is the Pöppelsche a temporary water containing up to in the course of time spring horizon in amount of B 1 dries out on over 250 days a year. In winter, the stream , which runs in karstified areas, almost always carries water; in summer, it mostly flows underground through the fissured limestone subsoil .
natural reserve
In 1978 Pöppelschetal was designated as a cross-community and 450 hectare nature reserve called the nature reserve valley system of the Pöppelsche with Hoinkhauser Bach .
water sports
A year-round driving ban applies to the entire Pöppelsche. There are only special regulations for local clubs. Canoeing on the high water Pöppelsche is considered difficult.
