Gottfried Brunner (teacher)

Gottfried Friedrich Wilhelm Brunner (born October 18, 1880 in Trieglaff , Greiffenberg district in Pomerania , † after 1942) was a German teacher of history, religion, German, Latin and Greek and a textbook author.

Life

Gottfried Brunner was born as the son of Pastor Johannes Brunner and his wife Emilie nee von Versen. He attended the Royal High School in Demmin , where he received his school-leaving certificate on February 22, 1899 . He then studied history , German , philosophy and theology at the universities of Tübingen , Leipzig and Berlin . There he passed the doctoral examination on June 25, 1903 and was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD . On November 14, 1905, he passed the examination for the higher teaching post for history, religion and German, on November 23, 1907 for Latin and Greek. From October 1906 to 1908 he was a member of the Candidate Convict at the Pedagogy for the Monastery of Our Dear Women in Magdeburg. On October 1, 1908, he became a scientific assistant teacher and on April 1, 1909, senior teacher at the Latin Secondary School of the Francke Foundations in Halle an der Saale . In 1909 he was teacher in Landsberg / Brandenburg and from 1924 to 1942 he was Upper Lyceum-senior teacher at the Augusta School Berlin. He was a member of the philologists' association, since the 1930s a specialist advisor to the provincial school college, later to the senior president and a member of the pedagogical examination office.
