Gottfried von Bohm

Knight Gottfried von Böhm (born October 27, 1845 as Gottfried Böhm in Nördlingen ; † July 1, 1926 there ) was a Bavarian State Councilor , Minister-Resident and poet .

Life

Gottfried Böhm was born in Nördlingen, where he was baptized as a Roman Catholic and then attended the Nördlingen Latin School. He then went to high school near St. Stephan in Augsburg . From 1864 to 1868 he studied law and oriental languages at the universities in Munich and Berlin . He then carried out his legal clerkship in Munich and Nördlingen, which he concluded with state bankruptcy. He then worked at the district office of Munich on the right of the Isar, in the consulate of the German Reich and in the government of Upper Bavaria . On February 16, 1880, he became a district assessor in Ingolstadt . He then worked for the Bavarian State Ministry for Foreign Affairs before he worked for the Bavarian legation at the Italian court from 1882 to 1883 . On 16 February 1883 he was appointed Secretary of Legation , First Class, on 1 January 1887 Counselor , on March 1, 1889 Empire Herald, June 16, 1892 Privy Counselor II. Class, and on April 1, 1898. Ministerial and for Director of the Secret House Archives and the Secret State Archives appointed. From October 1, 1907 to March 31, 1919, he was Minister Resident of the Swiss Confederation with the title and rank of Council of State . He spent his retirement in Nördlingen.

In addition to his professional career, Gottfried von Böhm worked as a local researcher , poet and historian . He dedicated his work “The Landsknecht with the One-Eyed Wamm” to the archivist Ludwig Müller .

Appreciation

The Gottfried-Böhm-Ring in Munich and the Gottfried-von-Böhm-Weg in Nördlingen are named after Gottfried von Böhm.
