Gotthelf Schulze

Gotthelf Schulze (born November 23, 1938 ) is a former German diplomat . He was the GDR ambassador in Guinea-Bissau , Cape Verde , Angola and São Tomé and Príncipe .

Life

After graduating from high school, Schulze studied foreign policy at the Institute for International Relations in Moscow . From 1963 he worked for the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the GDR (MfAA). From 1964 to 1966 he was attaché and from 1970 to 1974 head of the trade mission in Accra ( Ghana ). From 1974 to 1978 and from 1981 to 1984 he served as a sector manager in the North and West Africa department of the MfAA. From September 1978 to October 1981 he was the GDR's ambassador in Bissau , and from December 1978 to October 1981 he was second accredited to Cape Verde. From November 1985 to August 1989 he was ambassador in Luanda and from 1986 second accredited in São Tomé and Príncipe. In 1990 he worked as an employee in the East and Central Africa department.

Schulze was a member of the SED .
