Goupillières is a village and a former French commune with the last 178 inhabitants (2016) in the department of Calvados in the region of Normandy . It belonged to the Arrondissement of Caen and the Canton of Thury-Harcourt (until 2015: Canton Évrecy ).
With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Trois-Monts and Goupillières were merged to form Commune nouvelle Montillières-sur-Orne . The former municipalities were not granted the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in Trois-Monts.
geography
Goupillières is located on the Orne , which borders the area in the east, about 6 km north of Thury-Harcourt , the capital of the canton of the same name, and 20 km south-southwest of Caen. The place is surrounded by Trois-Monts in the north, Grimbosq in the northeast, Saint-Laurent-de-Condel in the east, Les Moutiers-en-Cinglais in the southeast, Ouffières in the south and southwest, La Caine in the west and Préaux-Bocage in the northwest Direction.
