Graham is the district capital and seat of the county seat of Young County in the US state of Texas in the United States .
geography
The city is located at the junction of US Highway 380 with Highways 16 and 67 in the southeast of the county in north-central Texas. The distance to Oklahoma is 114 km. Graham has a total area of 14.2 km 2 without any significant water surface.
history
The first settlement goes back to the year 1871 by Gustavus A. and Edwin S. Graham from Kentucky , after whom the place was named.

According to the 2000 census, 8,716 people lived here in 3,391 households and 2,366 families. The population density was 611.9 people per km 2 . The racial the population was composed of 88.39% White, 1.24% African American, 0.55% Native American, 0.30% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, and 7.78% other ethnic groups. About 1.66% were mixed race and 13.41% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 3,391 households, 32.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 55.9% of these were married couples living together. 10.3% were single mothers and 30.2% were non-families. 27.3% of all households were single households and there were people living in 15.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.48 and the average family size was 3.01.
26.0% of the population were under 18 years old, 7.6% 18 to 24, 25.2% 25 to 44, 21.5% 45 to 64, and 19.8% who were 65 years of age or older . The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females of all age groups, there were 88.4 males. For every 100 women aged 18 and over there were 83.3 men.
