Great Sitkin Island is a small island in the north of the Andreanof Islands , a group of islands in the southwest of the Aleutian Islands .
The uninhabited island, part of the US state of Alaska , has a land area of 245 km², is 19 km long and almost 13 km wide. The northern part of Great Sitkin Island is dominated by the 1740 m high active stratovolcano Great Sitkin , which last erupted in 1987.
