Staten Island is an uninhabited island in the Andreanof Islands , part of the Aleutian Islands . The approximately 1.5 km long and 60 m high island is located in the Bay of Islands of Adak Island .
The island was named after the US Navy Aleutian Island Survey Expedition in 1934 because of its similarity to Staten Island in New York State .
