Argonne Island is a small uninhabited island of the Andreanof Islands , which belong to the Aleutian Islands . The island lies between Staten and Dora , north of Adak .
The name of the island comes from the research ship USS Argonne , which entered the island in 1933 as part of an Aleutian expedition.
