The Greater Vancouver Electoral Area A (German constituency A in Greater Vancouver ) is located in the southwest of the Canadian province of British Columbia . It spans several unincorporated areas in the Metro Vancouver area . These include the University of British Columbia and University Endowment Lands west of the city of Vancouver , the islands of Bowyer Island, Passage Island and Barnston Island in the Fraser River , the west bank of Pitt Lake , the northern part of the Indian Arm and fjord the sparsely populated mountain areas in the North Shore Mountains .
These areas are administered by a director who belongs to the regional council and is elected for a term of three years. The council takes on the role of a local parliament for these areas.
Demographics
The 2011 census revealed a population of 13,035 for the area. The population increased by 18.0% compared to the 2006 census, while the population in the entire province of British Columbia only increased by 7.0% at the same time.
