Greek poets in new metric translations

Greek poets in new metrical translations is the title of a translation series that was edited by Gottlieb Lukas Friedrich Tafel (1787–1860), Christian Nathanael Osiander (1781–1855) and Gustav Schwab (1792–1850) from 1830 to 1871 in the Metzler- Verlag in Stuttgart appeared. The series with German translations of classics of Greek literature comprises a total of 75 volumes. The translators for the series were Ernst Wiedasch , Konrad Schwenk, Johannes Minckwitz , Gustav Ludwig, Christian Nathanael Osiander, Wilhelm Ernst Weber , Carl Friedrich Schnitzer, Friedrich Zimmermann, Christian Friedrich Platz and Georg Thudichum .

Tafel, Osiander and Schwab also edited: Greek prose writers in new translations (1–355), Roman poets in new metrical translations (1–77) and Roman prose writers in new translations (1–242).
