Blazon : “Split between red and gold; at the front of the gap a silver eagle with gold reinforcement, at the back two upright green acorns as stakes. "

The community colors show green - gold (yellow).

The community was first mentioned in 1326 as a castle town under the name Grymme, which belonged to the Count of Lindau . The community is surrounded by 2400 hectares of mixed forest. Before 1945, the majority of the residents lived from forest work and also ran a small farm on the side. Since the end of the Second World War, the development of the community has been shaped by the further development of agriculture and forestry. In the middle of the village there is an old fortified church which is under monument protection. The tower was built of field stones, above the tower there are spy openings to the east and west, which are said to have served to observe the enemy. The eagle is said to be the symbol for the old fortified church in town. The two acorns are supposed to indicate the richness of the forest, especially the deciduous forest.

The coat of arms was designed by the Heraldic Society “Black Lion” Leipzig.
