The Great Nickus is a 558 m high elevation in the eastern Main-Kinzig district in the area of the Sinntal community 2.5 km northwest of the Oberzell district in the Altengronau state forest.
The wooded mountain is part of the Spessart Nature Park , but is naturally included in the Brückenauer Kuppenrhön . In fact, the on the Great Nickus in overgrown corresponding blocks pending Basalt the rock of the Rhon, as in Spessart red sandstone is predominant.
The 488 m high Little Nickus rises 900 m south of the mountain . The L3141 runs from Oberzell to Gundhelm between the two peaks . With a gradient of up to 20 percent, this road reaches its highest point 1.8 km northwest of the Great Nickus at an unnamed knoll at 563 m .
