Grod was an independent political municipality in the district of Olten , Canton Solothurn , Switzerland . In 1973, Grod merged to form the municipality of Gretzenbach .
history
The first written mention of Grod dates from 1343 as Gerode . In the early Middle Ages, the hamlet was a plug-in yard of the St. Leodegar Abbey in Schönenwerd. From the end of the Helvetic Republic until the merger with Gretzenbach in 1973, Grod was an independent municipality.
